Size Matters
One thing that isn't often
considered when building a
sport-specific program, is
size.
That's right, not every
training regimen will work
for people playing the same
sport, but with different
physiques. For example,
when designing a workout
to improve performance on
the tennis court, a taller,
thinner person may need to
train differently than
someone with a shorter,
stockier build.
Going back to a tennis
player, the taller, more lean
player may need to work
more on strength and using
that height and reach to his
advantage. The shorter
player most likely will need
to focus more on agility and
speed. Of course, all the
training is specific to tennis,
but goes a step further by
tailoring the program for
body type.
Jeff has used this training
approach with pro and
amateur athletes, including
clients playing in the NHL,
NBA and MLB. The method
usually results in
improvements that come
faster and build a stronger
foundation for even better
future performance.
It's a more dynamic concept
and is a major advantage of
WPE personal training
programs. No matter what
the sport, the goal or the
body type, athletes or those
looking to improve their
fitness can be sure that their
program is unique to their
situation.
So we'll provide the
schedule, you bring the
commitment and motivation
to push your limits everyday.
That combination is failure
proof.
The goal here is to create individually tailored programs that create a future for clients, that until now, they could not create on their own.
The key to building a program for clients is that we will use physical fitness as just the foundation of building and improving any domain clients feel are important. It all starts with a healthy body, but can extend to improving mental well-being, achieving career goals, improving relationships or enhancing any other life domain.
The focus of whatever program we build will not be the numbers on a scale. Instead, each client chooses a physical goal, like running a 10k, completing a duathlon or improving their fitness test score, around which we design a training regimen.
The regimen will be founded in high intensity interval training (HIIT), the same type of training we employ for competitive athletes. This method is the best use of time as clients work hard, with high intensity for quicker results. In addition, often a nutritional plan is made.
As clients work toward their fitness goal, they quickly find the benefits spreading to other areas of their life.
Unlike the group fitness programs, these sessions are highly tailored, so only very small groups will be accepted. Contact Jeff for more information on group times and pricing. Prices below are gym prices. Add $10 for in-home session.

Program Consulting This program is for those that need a little more discipline and structure, but can navigate a gym and other recreational facilities and equipment. Heres how it works:
- The WEEKLY program - at the beginning of
each week, based on your goals and previous progress, a workout and diet regimen will be prescribed. This program includes a weekly meeting with a local nutritionist and could include lifting, aerobics, boxing, boot camp, running or other local classes or activities.
- The DAILY check-in - each day, at a
predetermined time, via e-mail, phone or in person, we will consult about daily activity and progress.
- The commitment - clients sign a contract
agreeing to follow the program as it is designed, failure to do so could result in termination of the relationship.
Correspondence Training This is just like a virtual coach, training to your specific time and needs, that you can call on at any time. Here's how it works:
- The bio - clients fill out a questionnaire to
determine their physical stats, typical diet, time to commit to program and goals.
- The regimen - a diet and fitness program for
the month is built based on your needs and habits.
- The journal - clients keep a journal to track
habits versus progress and for use in future consultation.
