Trail Run, Exercise Stations, Bridge Jumping and Orienteering... oh yeah, and it's
HAUNTED!
If you missed last year's Cider Slam, don't worry. This years version will be bigger, better and more brutal
than ever before!

You can expect about 4 miles of straight trail running. Along the trail you might find a cider station or a
donut stop. At these stops, you'll be required to slam a donut and cider before you continue. Be careful
though, throughout the haunted forest are ghouls who would like nothing more than to pelt you with rotten
apples left over from other racers that never made it out. Not only that, but they fricken hurt! Move fast and
duck when you need to, their aim is deadly.

If you should choose to do the optional Orienteering course (why wouldn't you???), plan on another 1-3
miles added on. All racers will be given a map of the park. If you're doing the O'course, you'll be given exact
coordinates at the check in spot for each section. All you have to do is set your compass to that coordinate
and go find the CP. Though the O'course is optional, you will not be considered a ranked racer unless you
obtain a minimum number (to be determined) of CP's on the course. Don't know how to use a compass?
We'll be doing a short and easy clinic right before the race. This will NOT be hard, just fun... for us.

All racers, short course or full course, will be expected to make a sacrifice to the river gods at Bloomer.
Feel free to bring some clothing to change into after making your sacrifice, it may be cold! There's going to be a place to change
nearby. Oh yeah, and jump quickly while up on the bridge - it's illegal! Lets get up and down before the po-po show up!

The course will not be flagged. You can obtain most stations in any order you wish. You'll have 2 hours to obtain as many points
(1 per each station completed and 1 per each CP obtained on the O'course) as you can and get back to the start/finish area.
Racing in costume will get you 1 extra point. Best costume wins an award.

Following the race will be the kids event, awards and world class food from my pops! Bring a compass, $1 for a race task, a
costume and some dry clothes. And, if your kids going to "play" on the kids course after the race, let us know by emailing
Dori
